Love is human need. Everybody want to be loved. But worldly love and possessions do  not bring real happiness because joy and contentment are related to inner self and not to comforts. That is why we become restless or feel void after sometime.
Our guruji used to say that grieve not for lost love whether it is through death or the fickle fluctuation of human nature. Because love is never lost but just play hide and seek with you in many hearts. It may keep hiding from you and disappointing you until you have realized and feel it in the deepest recesses of your own soul.
You will find love in parents,friends,birds,beasts and possessions. Love god first and expand this love to all beings forever. You may follow your loved ones with mental gaze when you move elsewhere even behind the death screen.
