LIFE

We don't hear a lot, these days about 'happiness'. It is out of fashion. People are more interested in looking good, losing weight or seeking fame. Contentment? What's that? Once, though, it was a different story. People did not care how they lived or what happened to them as long as their hearts were light and their minds were clear. Now we may be wealthier than our ancestors but we are more worried than they were.  When  you start to shake-off a fascination that has caused restlessness, you will feel far better.
A life without challenge would be a life without excitement. Want adventure, interest, intrigue, intensity and involvement? Then you've got to have a few problems. And there had better be moments when these worry you so much that you are ready to take the kind of drastic action that you'd never contemplate in a more peaceful easy situation. Of course something is 'too much' at the moment. If it weren't, you wouldn't react, learn and plan for change. Be glad of what's wrong and your chance to put it right.
Why do we do the same thing, over and over again? Because we enjoy it? Because we are too tired to explore an alternative? Because it is what's expected of us? Because nothing could make us happier? Because all other options are closed to us? There are many reasons for repetition and, while some are very good, others are frankly deplorable. How easy is it to change an old habit? That entirely depends on whether you are working for a carrot or a stick so choose a carrot.
Imagine what it must be like - or feel like - to be the Sun. There you are, slap bang in the centre. All about you the planets twirl as they slowly circle you at different speeds and distances. Around and around, they go. You see the same patterns repeating themselves. You are causing this to happen, yet you cannot stop it! A drama is being played out now. In some respects, it is inevitable. There is a limit to how much you can influence the outcome. Still, though, you have some resources at your disposal. Life is a big drama itself!
