Imagine the TV is blaring away in one room, the radio is turned up high in another - and next door, a dog barks. Not that you can hear it above the motorbike outside your window. If you can't go somewhere more conducive to contemplation, you must at least get some earplugs. If it's on its way out, let it go. If it's on its way in, welcome it with open arms. That's easy advice to give but it's difficult to take when you are not sure that you like the changes that are taking place. Move up, move on. What's new is neither a threat nor a second-rate substitute. It's a gift that can yet help everything make sense. What are the odds of you ever leading a life in which everything goes just the way you want? We don't come here for a holiday. We come for an intense encounter with fierce forces that we cannot control, you may discover that things aren't so bad after all.
