There are very few certainties in life. The only things we can be sure of are, by and large, rather uninspiring. Certainties, though, really don't require much thought, so it is quite acceptable not to think about them! Uncertainties need plenty of consideration but we must always remember that if something is uncertain, we are ill advised to reach a final conclusion about it.When people want one another to see the obvious, they say, 'Read the writing on the wall.' What does the writing on your wall say now? It says, 'This is the wall with writing on it.' Sometimes, unless the obvious is spelled out to us, we just don't take any notice of it.When dealing with emotive issues, it is wise to remember that people do not always really want their problems solving. They may claim to desire this, yet when circumstances bring liberation, they feel disappointed. 'What am I going to do now? ' They ask. 'I was relying on that difficulty to give me something to worry about. ' Might you now be trying too hard to help a particular person? Might you be making more effort than you truly need to? Resist the urge to ride to the rescue. Wait a while to see if the cries for help continue
