The world is full of people who like to feel as if they have the answer to every question. So, if you've got the answer, why is it so difficult to apply? Could it be that someone, somewhere, is asking the wrong question? Or could it be that the most mooted answer originates from someone other than yourself? Perhaps you don't want to trust their answer and you would prefer to come up with one of your own. Consider the possibility that their answer is your answer too!
If we can make ourselves immune to a cause for concern, we can rise above it, can't we? In theory, all is simple. As long as we don't mind, it doesn't matter. But what if we are out swimming and a shark bites our leg? Can we swim free simply by persuading ourselves that those teeth are only tickling us? Of course, not. But if that self-deception puts us at our ease,
People who often have good ideas, soon learn that it is not always such a good idea to share that good idea. Even if it is a very good idea indeed, there will be someone somewhere who thinks that it is a good idea to challenge your good idea. It may well be that the only thing that's wrong with it is that it's your good idea and not their good idea. But if that's so, the really smart trick is surely to keep comparatively quiet and just gently nudge the other person into thinking of the same good idea on their own!
People will find fault with anything.
As soon as one person opens their mouth, they are ready to pounce on anything that is said and subject whatever is said to callous criticism. When such negative remarks are cleverly phrased, they can be highly effective at undermining confidence. But perhaps the only poor choice would be to choose to take any of that too seriously.
Are you striving to resolve a moral dilemma? There are pros and cons to a proposition. As you weigh the positives against the negatives, you are becoming slightly confused about the best way to proceed. In an ideal world, you might be seeking an answer to an entirely different question. What a shame this is not an ideal world. Or perhaps it is? It is time to think again about what you are attempting to accomplish. There may yet be a way to achieve a desirable result without any undesirable consequences. Got a problem? It can be solved!
