We don't like the people who tell us what we don't want to hear.We are all creatures of habit. We like to do what we have always done. We prefer the well-trodden pathways, not least because, if we stick to these, we are not required to consult maps and ask for directions. People who know what they are talking about rarely feel an overwhelming urge to explain themselves.  People who are secretly far less certain of their facts, may attempt to replace a lack of understanding with a veritable eruption of description and persuasion.
