Rabbits don't generally live in top hats but good magicians can usually make it seem as if they do. Indeed, those stage illusionists probably have a better chance of finding a rabbit in a hat than they do of finding one in a meadow. Catching wild rabbits requires a special set of skills, none of which involve wands or handkerchiefs. All of which brings us neatly to this most pertinent question. Do you want to participate in a process of natural magic? Or would you rather be mesmerised by an artificial display?
Now, feel the magic to solve- The big question for you and me would be always- 'What do I need to do?' It is, 'What do I need not to do?' We are under a degree of pressure, exacerbated by a somewhat unreasonable expectation that has begun to develop at the back of our mind. We think things need to be a certain way and that we, therefore, need to take very particular steps. But if we were to stand further back, we might soon come to view our current situation in a rather different light. The most useful thing, you can hope to find now is a fresh perspective. No 'And so suggestions to everyone who feels there's no way out, maybe if we all shout, someone will hear us...' So sang the late Kevin Ayers; a performer who was briefly, nearly famous in Europe in the 1970s. The message in this particular song remains as relevant now as ever it was.
There may be times when it is appropriate to accept an undesirable situation or at least try to make the most of it. But there are other times when the only thing to do is protest. If we try hard enough, we can change what needs changing, some demands that would make them uncomfortable that we feel we have to hide from others. Don't let that slip past unnoticed now, recognise that opportunity.
