Must all choices be stark? Must all options be mutually exclusive? Why are some people so insistent that the middle way can only ever be a road that leads to nowhere and that compromise is just a fancy name for surrender? You can adhere to such a harsh doctrine if you wish. But in doing so, whose nose will you be cutting off in order to spite whose face? It may be time to have a conversation with your harshest inner-critic and ask them if they really always need to uphold such impossibly exacting standards?
