Why shouldn't the universe smile on you? What great cosmic law forbids you from attaining success? On what are you basing a pessimistic prognosis? People sometimes tend to describe their gloomier thoughts as 'more realistic'. They feel, somehow, as if entertaining optimism is like issuing a social invitation to a ne'er-do-well. Even if they come to visit, won't they only let you down? But hope is not some dodgy dealer of false promises; it is a respectable and powerful force. Make room for it in your world now. 
There are many circumstances under which we all have to put on a brave face. We learn at an early age, not to wear our hearts on our sleeve and how to hide our deepest thoughts and feelings. But this is a technique that we can get too good at. If we are not careful, we repress emotions that we would be better off allowing ourselves to express. We don't just draw the kind of veil that prevents the rest of the world from seeing them; we disguise them from ourselves. It is time to face what you might feel more inclined to ignore.
There is always a moment, just after any brave decision has been taken, where people begin to experience doubt. They worry that they may have been too hasty or failed to take into account some vital factor which will later become obvious. The fact that such experiences befall us can't be taken as proof that mistakes have been made. Sometimes, there is nothing else to do but wait and see how a process plays out.
