Or maybe the 100-year repose of this mythical heroine was a symbolic representation of the way in which we all exist in a kind of dream state. What we perceive as 'real life' is just a pale shadow of a life we could be leading. The real measurement of our existence is not the number of years that we have stood on this Earth as it travels round the Sun; it is the number of breaths that we have drawn in a state of serenity and gratitude.
