It is easy, today, to get caught up in all that seems intense, dramatic and demanding. But if you truly seek to resolve a tricky issue, you must stop and see the bigger picture. Yet the reverse of that phrase is never true. There is an old expression, 'Sometimes, you have to be cruel to be kind.' There is some truth in that. People occasionally need to be told things that they don't want to hear. Truths must be flagged up and pointed out, even if they are uncomfortable or hurtful.
