It would not be wise to compile a list of all the factors and forces that seem to be working against you. Even if some psychological satisfaction could be attained from getting it all off your chest, you would soon run out, first of paper then of ink, and that would become yet one more reason to feel hard done by. Yet somewhere in your world there is one additional element that can be easily and briefly described. This compensates for all else that you might be missing out on. Focus only on thatWhat if things don't go to plan? What, indeed, if the mooted solution to a problem turns out to create a new one more distressing than the old one? Such things can happen, argue the pessimists. They also say, 'There's many a slip twixt cup and lip.' That says plenty about their grip on reality. How often have you seen anyone experiencing such a spillage? There's not 'many a slip', it is very unusual. You would have to be so unlucky to encounter such trouble. And you are simply not that ill-favoured by the forces of fortune.
