How quickly we develop a sense of ownership. One minute, an item is sitting on a shop shelf. The next, it is at the checkout with you and the moment your money goes over the counter, it becomes 'yours'! To have and to hold, to share if you choose and withhold if you prefer. 'Mine!' is one of the first words we ever learn. Yet what truly IS ours and what are we merely borrowing briefly? You will soon be helped to let go of an old obsession. This will allow you to embrace something more rewarding and genuinely good for you. Is it possible to improve on perfection? Of course not. But this doesn't stop millions from trying to do just that, every day. The reason why they try is, of course, because they do not recognise perfection when they see it. They either grow so familiar with a beautiful rose that they feel it would be more interesting if it had different shaped petals... or they notice only the thorns and feel that somehow, these must be wrong. Something in your emotional life now is just right, just the way it is. Soon, you'll see the delightful proof of that.
You see them on TV. Ads that say, 'Worried about all your debts? Turn them all into one big debt with us! You'll pay less,' They ought to add: 'And we'll make more.' Lenders need creditors. Without them, they earn no money. We should not feel bad about our borrowing; we should be acting important and demanding the best service. It is the same with all relationships where someone somehow makes us feel indebted to them. In your personal life, are you now feeling intimidated, when you have every right to be proud?
Too many people spend too much time trying to pass themselves off as grown-ups. In the adult world, though, we are not allowed to make mistakes. We feel we can't experiment or explore, we have to act as if we know what we are doing at all times. No wonder we feel so stiff and tense. Life now brings an invitation to play. Don't feel that you must avoid this lest you seem foolish or 'waste' valuable time. Relaxation feeds imagination. That, in turn, creates inspiration... which could all yet lead to real emancipation.
