Think of the fortunes that governments spend on defence; on military personnel, weapons and shields. Is all this expenditure truly necessary? Don't we live in a modern, civilised, world, where people can just be trusted? A world where we need no longer mount constant vigils against transgression? That depends, to some extent, on who you ask. A lot of business interests are firmly aligned with a need for the world to remain unstable. Now, just a thought... who, or what, stands poised to profit from unrest in your life now?
Whenever we have to identify ourselves, we are first asked for our name, then our address, then our age. What kind of picture can anyone really hope to form with such information? Does your name really say all that there is to be said about your personality or your standing in the world? What about your street? What judgements might people jump to on the basis of such misleading information? The real you has a special request that it would like you to honour.
When we get really hungry, our appetite works itself up into such a frenzy that it doesn't want to stop eating, even once it has had enough. It is not the only powerful force that is capable of welling up within us so strongly that it will not subside. Anger can remain with us for long after we have expressed our displeasure. Sadness can haunt us for quite some while, even after we have resolved whatever issue has caused upset or disappointment. Beware of letting something roll on when it ought to be allowed to roll away.
Back in the pioneering days of the internet, before everything turned slick and corporate, emails were exciting things to get and websites were thrilling places to visit. Some of the fun faded away once everything got organised. And we all need a little cutting-edge adventure in our lives somewhere, somehow. Where, in your world, have too many precedents been set and too many rules been long since laid down? And where is there still room to manoeuvre? It is time to go beyond a boundary.
How will you ever know what you are capable of until, or unless, you try? And why on earth would you even try unless, a) you are put under unreasonable pressure or b) a victim of your own relentless - and dangerous - curiosity? It probably isn't advisable to push yourself too hard or too far, purely on the basis of a wild whim. Nor is it necessarily appropriate to resent a set of circumstances that have recently put you at the edge of your comfort zone. But you may yet find a way to be highly comfortable there.
