They say, 'A problem shared, is a problem halved.' But, as I often point out, that depends on who you share it with. Some people overreact to tales of woe, and before you know it, their response to your story has become part of the very problem you were hoping to get help with. It also isn't helpful when folk pick holes in plans and propositions, saying things like 'that will never work'. Better to clutch at the flimsiest straw than to stop swimming altogether. And if you keep swimming now, you will yet reach a safe shore.
