It's never wise to be too far away from reality when you have to make an important decision. Theory sounds great but it if overlooks some vital detail, it won't help. And too much detail can just as easily confuse things. Think about magnifying mirrors in over-lit bathrooms. Suddenly, tiny imperfections begin to look like dramatic deformities! If you've got a problem, it is linked to the way in which one situation is being subjected to too much scrutiny while another big assumption is being accepted without question.
