Why would anyone ever do anything half-heartedly? Perhaps because... to be wholehearted is to risk great potential disappointment. If you put all your emotional eggs into one basket, what will you do if you drop it? There go all your unhatched chickens. Surely, it makes more sense to keep at least a few of these in an alternative incubator? Yet doesn't the very existence of a back-up plan suggest a state of less than total commitment? When is a conversation not a conversation? When it involves two monologues, but no proper dialogue. What's the point of you saying your piece and then allowing someone else to say theirs, unless both of you are going to listen to each other? And if the other person isn't hearing what's being said to them? Well then, if you really care, you can fix the problem by paying even closer attention to what they are saying. Somewhere in their words, there is a clue about what they are trying to ignore. Try tackling them on that topic. Do you want to find out something surprising in life?
